ABOUT RITA

Rita's interest in art began as a midwestern child through drawings and contests. She developed her artistic talents taking courses that led to a gratifying career as a graphic designer for a Fortune 500 company.

During her professional career, she also raised a family while taking art classes in and around Chicago but only painted sporadically.

Upon moving to Charlotte, NC a few years ago, she dedicated a major portion of her life to art. She paints in both oil and acrylic mediums. Her travels inspire her domestic and international subjects.

Rita's work has been described as engaging, expressive and interpretative in a way that invites viewers to use their imagination.

Her work has been displayed in several juried and judged art shows Including WSOC; Wachovia/First Union; Bank of America; The Charlotte Art League; Festival in the Park at Freedom Park; Queens University, Dana Auditorium Gallery; NBC Channel 6, a one person show; Festival of the Arts at University Park; Charlotte Observer; the Manor Theater, a two person show; Binders Art Center Cotswold Shopping Ctr; The Arthouse gallery in Noda; Queens Gallery., Stanley Arts Guild; and Eight Legs Gallery in Waxhaw.

She belongs to several art organizations including TheGuild of Charlotte Artists where she served on the board from 2005 - 2007., The Charlotte Artist Society where she continues to serve on the board and The Matthews Art Guild.
